I’ve spent much of my career designing within constraints — legacy systems, regulatory environments, tight timelines — and enjoy finding clarity and simplicity within complexity.

I approach design as a collaborative, iterative practice grounded in understanding people and constraints. My process is flexible, but here are some of the core principles that guide how I work:

Building a strong understanding of the problem space and context.
Partnering early and often with cross-functional teammates — product managers, engineers, researchers, content designers — to ensure alignment and leverage diverse perspectives.
Exploring and testing ideas before committing to a direction, whether that's through sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and/or design critiques.
Iterating towards outcomes that are both usable and scalable.

My process isn't rigid. I adapt it to the context, the team, and the constraints of the project. What stays consistent is a commitment to clarity and intentionality in every decision.

Documentation as a design tool — Clear, efficient documentation is essential to building shared understanding, enabling collaboration, and creating scalable design systems. I treat documentation as an extension of the design process — capturing devisions, tradeoffs, and rationale so teams can align, iterate, and scale without unnecessary friction.
Collaboration over isolation - Strong design outcomes come from working closely with cross-functional teammates, not from working in a silo. I prioritize collaboration early and often to surface constrints, challenge assumptions, and ensure solutions are both usable and feasible.
Learning as a practice - I view learning as an ongoing part of my role, not a phase of my career. Whether it's refining existing skills, exploring new tools, or entering adjacent spaces like front-end coding, I actively seek opportunities to grow and bring new prespectives back into my work.
Design for scale - I aim to create solutions that work not just for today's user case, but for what comes next. This means thinking in systems, anticipating edge cases, and designing patterns that can flex and grow as products and teams evolve.
Structure before visuals - A strong foundation leads to stronger outcomes. I prioritize structures, hierarchy, and flow before visual polish to ensure designs are clear, intentional, and resilient — especially in complex or content-heavy experiences.
